Filming for the movie My Own Love Song is in full swing throughout the state. Louisiana Now correspondents report several locations have been used as a backdrop for the movie. Quite a few Louisiana residents have been used as extras so far in the production. Scenes have been shot in New Orleans, Thibodaux, Carville, Mandeville, and St. James to name a few locations.
Writeen and directed by French filmmaker Olivier Dahan, the story follows a wheelchair-bound singer and her best friend on a cross-country trip to Memphis. It stars Forest Whitaker, Renée Zellweger, and Nick Nolte.
