The Independent looks into Lafayette's daily newspaper

The Lafayette City-Parish Council had to cancel a meeting this week because The Daily Advertiser, the official journal of city-parish government, failed to print the council’s agenda when it was supposed to, violating the Home Rule Charter. As Leslie Turk speculates, the newspapers failure may have something to do with the actions of the parent company.
"No longer a monopoly in any of its markets, Gannett — like every other newspaper chain in the country — is scrambling to reinvent itself."
