Louisiana's own witness presidential inauguration

It looks like plenty of folks from Louisiana are in Washington, D.C. as the United States swears in its first African-American president, Barack Obama. Baton Rouge's CBS affiliate, WAFB, sent popular "Street Beat" reporter Greg Meriwether and photographer Brandon Shackelford. [WAFB]

Over at Nola.com, there's a section called "My Inauguration." The site allows everyone to "be a part of history." [Nola.com]

The Town Talk reports Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy is in Washington, D.C., and will attend the presidential inauguration. But unlike some mayors in Louisiana, he is paying for that out of his own pocket.
Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover also is in attendance at the national conference and will attend the inauguration. According to a Gannett News Service report, the city of Shreveport is paying for Glover to stay over for the inauguration. [Alexandria Town Talk]

The Grambling State University Marching Band will be in the nation's capital as well. The band will play Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" in front of the presidential reviewing stand. [Monroe News Star]
