House passes health care bill with Cao as lone Republican vote

CBS News: the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous. Only one Republican, Rep. Joseph Cao of Louisiana, voted for the bill.
"Tonight, I voted to keep taxpayer dollars from funding abortion and to deliver access to affordable health care to the people of Louisiana, Cao said.
"Louisianans needs real options for primary care, for mental health care, and for expanded health care for seniors and children," he added.
The bill passed the House at a 220-215 vote.
