Carrie Underwood tapped Super Bowl national anthem singer

USA Today: American Idol winners Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen got the championship games. But when it comes to the national anthem for Super Bowl XLIV, the NFL calls on the singer who has sold more albums in the U.S. than any other Idol winner: Carrie Underwood.
The New Orleans Saints will play in their first Super Bowl against the Indianapolis Colts on Feb. 7 in South Florida.
