Baton Rouge escapee Demond Cook captured

The Advocate: An escaped Baton Rouge convict with a long criminal record was captured today by sheriff’s deputies and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force around 7 p.m. in a vacant house on Lorraine Street. Demond Fitzgerald Cook, 34, who fled from Catahoula Parish deputies outside the Baton Rouge state courthouse this morning, was captured at the vacant house, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokesman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
