From WWL: President Barack Obama will name Xavier University alum Dr. Regina Benjamin as the nation's new surgeon general, according to an administration source.
As CNN reports, she is a 52-year-old family practice doctor who has spent most of her career tending to the needs of poor patients in a Gulf Coast clinic in Alabama.
